This is a space for culture and arts built by Kim Rae-hyeon, an artist and descendant of Kim Yeol, to exhibit contemporary art. Kim Yeol was a talented writer and scholar during the Joseon Dynasty and there are records of his outstanding virtues even in Gangneung, which was known as the home of academics. He lived using Imgyeongdang, which is a tangible cultural heritage containing a period of over 500 years, as a detached house. DAECHUMOO FINE ART is located on the right side of Imgyeongdang and it communicates with citizens across various genres ranging from music, performances, and contemporary art exhibitions.  Here, GIAF will display the works of Lee Changhoon and Lee Soyo. The works of Lee Changhoon that uses the waters of Namdaecheon River as materials and Lee Soyo who brings natural history of Seokbyeongsan Mt. into the realm of art exposes the alluring aspect of plural art that attempts to make dialog in a space with deep roots filled with the past.
