강릉원주대학교에서 미술학을 공부한 후 동 대학원 미술학과 석사과정을 수료했다.
Born in 1982.
After studying fine arts at Gangneung-Wonju National University, Bak Yeon hu completed her master’s degree course in fine arts at the said university.
Bak Yeon hu constantly questions herself and concentrates on the identity situated between stereotypes and that which change. She asks the fundamental question about her existence while examining and exploring personal identity and impact as a member of a group. In this exhibition, she thinks back about the time of being born and raised in Gangneung, leaving to another region as an adult, and then returning back to Gangneung to ask about the meaning of home.
박연후는 자신에 대한 물음을 끊임없이 던지며 고정된 관념과 변화하는 것들 사이에 위치한 아이덴티티에 집중한다. 자신의 존재에 근원적인 물음을 던지며 개인의 정체성과 집단의 일원으로서 미치는 영향력에 대해 고민하고 탐구한다.
이번 전시에서는 강릉에서 나고 자란 작가가 성인이 되어 다른 지역으로 이주하고, 다시 강릉으로 돌아오기까지의 시간을 되새기면서 집의 의미를 질문한다.
