Born in 1958.
She studied sculpture at Hongik University College of Fine Arts and graduated from the Department of Sculpture (master's degree) at Hongik University Graduate School.
Hong Lee, Hyun-sook has been advocating an independent and free body resisting the patriarchal society. She has had ongoing interest in the environment and ecological issues, and has been anguishing over the disappearing habitats and livelihoods of local residents through various public art projects. At this exhibition, she will display six video and installation works and four photographs. She shares communion with the space while examining ‘caring’, ‘practice’, and ‘coexistence’. Through her visual works, she depicts the scene of her body encountering a specific place and time.
