Soo Yim deals with various media focusing on painting and contemplates between nature and people, and human and science. She attempts to spot the connecting point of the dichotomously divided world and draws her inspiration from the movements of nature and humans. She is working on gaining an attitude of an artist that views and expresses life as a mediator. In this exhibition, she observes ‘waves’, which is an aspect of nature that she experienced. Soo Yim asks the question on how nature observation data can express daily domains and aesthetic senses, as she produces paintings of marine data of Gangneung using data such as tides, tide height, seawater flow, temperature, wind direction, and wind speed.
