Dongwan Kook has continued her Dream Archive work of interpreting memories of the unconscious and working out into the form of books and sculptures since 2007. At this exhibition, she will unveil her <#ToMyLittleArtist> project. By having adults imitate the arts of young children, she reconfirms the artistry inside humans and asks about the essence of art. Can drawings of children be called art? Dongwan Kook, who is both an artist and mother, recreates the drawings of children with her free-associated drawing techniques using mimesis, which is a typical mode of art. This suggests a new perspective on the old relationship of art between ‘creation’ and ‘imitation’.
